It holds up to 882 pounds of ice (Koolaire's application capacity, based on 90% of the 29.7 cubic foot volume at 33 lbs per cubic foot; the 2018 AHRI-rated capacity is 710 lbs). The K970 is the 48-inch bin, Koolaire's largest, made for the 48-inch KT1700 and able to take a 30-inch or 22-inch Kuber with an adapter.

A foam-insulated door cuts sweating and keeps ice longer, and it stays open on its own while you scoop. An internal scoop holder keeps the scoop above the ice line for better sanitation. The stainless-like exterior resists corrosion, and black side panels match Koolaire ice machines.

Which ice makers fit: per Koolaire's bin chart, KT1700 Kubers (KDT1700A/KYT1700A) sit directly on this bin; KP0420 Kubers (KDP0420A/KYP0420A) fit with the K00473 bin adapter; KP0300/KP0400/KP0500/KP0700/KP1000 Kubers (KDP0300A/KYP0300A, KDP0400A/KYP0400A, KDP0500A/KYP0500A, KDP0700A/KYP0700A, KDP1000A/KYP1000A) fit with the K00470 bin adapter.
