Mechanical snap-action thermostats sense the plate temperature in each 12-inch zone and hold it anywhere from 150°F to 550°F. The chrome surface radiates less heat into the kitchen and releases food easily, which also speeds cleanup.

Best for:

Breakfast service: eggs, pancakes, bacon and hash browns

Burgers, cheesesteaks and grilled sandwiches

Diners, cafes and food trucks

Key specifications:

Model: 824TCHSA

Cooking surface: 24" x 24"

Plate: 1" thick chrome

Burners: 2

Total input: 60,000 BTU/hr

Controls: snap-action thermostatic, 150°F to 550°F

Gas: Natural gas or propane (confirm gas type when ordering)

Dimensions: 24" W x 34.2" D x 18" H

Shipping weight: 300 lb

Features:

1" thick T1 steel plate with a hexavalent chrome cooking surface for steady, even heat

One 30,000 BTU burner per 12" section with standing pilot ignition

Snap-action thermostat for each 12" section with sensors set 3/16" below the cooking surface

4.375" rear and side splash guards with a 3.5" wide grease trough

Welded steel frame with a stainless steel exterior and corrosion-resistant base

Grease drawer

4" adjustable legs

Installation notes:

3/4" NPT male gas connection; confirm natural gas or propane when ordering

Install under a commercial exhaust hood by a licensed gas fitter, following local codes

Equipment stand is sold separately

Warranty:

2 years parts and labor from Star
