Scotsman SSM1-P SSM Plus Single-Cartridge Water Filter System for Ice Machines, 1.67 GPM

The Scotsman SSM1-P is a single-cartridge SSM Plus water filtration system for one ice machine. It mounts on the wall at the water line and filters the water before it reaches the machine.

Each SSM Plus cartridge uses ultrafine half-micron filtration and food-grade polyphosphate. The filtration keeps chlorine, off-tastes, odors and particles out of the ice, and the polyphosphate helps hold back scale. AquaArmor with AgION, a silver-based anti-microbial compound, reduces the growth of bacteria, algae, mold and slime on ice machine surfaces and helps prevent premature clogging. Scotsman says filtration can cut unscheduled water-related service calls by as much as 40%.

Sizing: Scotsman rates the SSM1-P for cube ice machines up to 650 lb (295 kg) per day and flake or nugget ice machines and nugget dispensers up to 1,200 lb (544 kg) per day, with a maximum flow of 1.67 gallons per minute. It takes 1 SSMRC1 replacement cartridge (also sold as the SSMRC6 six-pack).

Installation: install on the potable water line ahead of the ice machine. It works in 50-100°F air and with 40-100°F water at 20-80 psi. The manifold has a pressure gauge, and the sanitary quick-change cartridges are easy to swap.

Certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 (chlorine reduction class 1, taste and odor reduction, particle reduction class 1) and Standard 53 (turbidity, cyst and asbestos reduction). Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
