The Koolaire KDP1000A is a 30-inch modular cube ice machine, a Koolaire "Kuber" built by Manitowoc. It makes up to 846 pounds of ice in 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, and about 630 pounds at 90°F air and 70°F water. The KP1000 is the tallest 30-inch Kuber (29.5-inch cabinet) and the most production Koolaire offers in a 30-inch width, aimed at hotels, hospitals, schools and large restaurants. It is ENERGY STAR qualified.

It makes Koolaire's full-size Kube, a 7/8" x 7/8" x 7/8" dice cube. The square cube is slow to melt and fills a glass evenly, a good all-round choice for soft drinks, iced tea, water service and mixed drinks.

This is the air-cooled version, so no condenser water line is needed; it puts about 14,080 BTU/hr of heat into the room on average (16,340 BTU/hr at peak), so plan ventilation accordingly. Koolaire rates it at 4.7 kWh per 100 lbs of ice at 90°F air / 70°F water and about 14 gallons of potable water per 100 lbs of ice. Power is 208-230/60/1 with an 8.6 amp minimum circuit and 15 amp maximum fuse. Note this model needs a 208-230 volt single-phase circuit. Refrigerant is R290.

Matching Koolaire bins: per Koolaire's K-Series bin chart, the KP1000 sits directly on the K570 (532 lb, 30" wide) bin; it also fits the K970 (882 lb, 48" wide) with the K00470 bin adapter. Bins and adapters are sold separately.

Manitowoc bins: Koolaire also lists bin adapters for this 30-inch Kuber on Manitowoc F-style bins: K303000 for the Manitowoc F700 and K483048 for the F1300; the K603048 covers a single Kuber on the F1325 or F1650. Koolaire notes that a 30-inch front-facing evaporator Kuber on a Manitowoc F-style bin also needs its K00347 ice deflector.

Water filter: filtered water keeps scale off the evaporator and makes clearer, better-tasting ice. The matching filter for this model is the 3M CUNO ICE160-S ice machine water filter system, with the HF60-S replacement cartridge for change-outs. Both are sold separately.

Koolaire warranty: Koolaire's limited commercial warranty covers the ice maker for three (3) years parts and labor, the evaporator for five (5) years parts and labor, and the compressor for five (5) years parts and three (3) years labor.
