The Scotsman HID525AX-1 is a Meridian nugget ice and water dispenser built for heavier traffic: it makes up to 500 pounds of chewable nugget ice a day and stores 25 pounds, enough for busy hospital floors, cafeterias and large break rooms.

Touch-free dispensing: this is the touch-free version. An infrared sensor dispenses ice or water when a cup is placed under the chute, so nobody touches the machine, which cuts down on shared touch points in healthcare and public areas. If your users prefer to control the fill themselves, the push-button version is model HID525ABX-1.

Nugget ice is soft, chewable and slow-melting. It cools drinks quickly with little dilution, which is why hospitals, clinics and offices favor it.

Installation: self-contained and air cooled, it plugs into a standard 115V outlet with the included 7.5 ft cord and NEMA 5-15P plug, and needs a 3/8" flare potable water inlet (20-80 psi) and a 3/4" FPT gravity drain. Allow 6 inches at the left, back and right for airflow and utilities; install indoors at 50-100°F air and 40-100°F water. Where there is no counter, it sits on the matching Scotsman HST21-A (with locking door and shelf) or HST21B-A (basic) stand, sold separately. Optional 4" adjustable legs are also available.

Scotsman warranty: 3 years parts and labor, plus 5 years parts on compressor and condenser for commercial installations (1 year parts and labor in residential applications).
