The MC1448SA-3 is a 48-inch-wide Prodigy ELITE head rated for up to 1,553 pounds of ice a day. It is made for high-volume operations such as hotels, hospitals, large restaurants and food processing, usually paired with a 48-inch Scotsman bin.

This model makes Scotsman small cubes, 7/8" x 7/8" x 3/8". The thinner half-size cube packs tightly in the glass, cools drinks quickly and is easy to blend, which makes it a good choice for fountain drinks, blended drinks and healthcare use.

It is air-cooled, so no condenser water line is needed. Removable front-facing air filters make cleaning quick; leave room around the unit for air flow and keep the room between 50°F and 100°F. At 90°F air and 70°F water it is rated for about 1,296 pounds a day, and it uses 4.25 kWh and 18.0 gallons of drinking water per 100 pounds of ice.

This is the three-phase version (208-230V, 3 phase) for buildings with three-phase service, which lowers the current draw on each leg.
